About
Seif Amara is the developer and researcher behind School Age Calculator. A parent who kept having to manually work out grade eligibility every enrollment season, he built the tool after discovering how easy the math is to get wrong: cutoff dates vary by state, leap-year birthdays need special handling, and the same age can mean two different grades depending on a single day. He maintains the state-by-state cutoff reference table against public state education codes and writes the parent guides on this site. His work focuses on turning confusing enrollment rules into instant, accurate answers for families across the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
